Repair Kext Permissions with Terminal

Recommended Posts

Proper permission and ownership is required for Kexts to load in macOS. If ownership or permission mismatch kext will not be loaded.

To fix kext permissions open terminal and run following commands one by one.

## Fix Permissions for /System/Library/Extensions/ ##
sudo chown root:wheel /System/Library/Extensions/
sudo chmod -R 755 /System/Library/Extensions/

## Fix Permissions for /Library/Extensions/ ##
sudo chown root:wheel /Library/Extensions/
sudo chmod -R 755 /Library/Extensions/

If permissions are not correct kext will be blocked from loading and show "System Extension Blocked" message.
